Abstract: Reading is always considered as the major channel of language input, or in other words the main way to acquire language knowledge. Among the various emotional factors, self-efficacy has greater influence on English reading. Based on the data got from questionnaires and the data analysis through SPSS, the present study aims to explore the level of English reading self-efficacy and using frequency of reading strategies for non-English majors and the correlation between the two individual difference factors above.. The results indicate that non-English major's English reading self-efficacy are at moderate level and they don't employ English reading strategies frequently; there's significant gender difference in non-English major's English reading self-efficacy; there's significant positive correlation between reading self-efficacy and the using frequency of reading strategies.
