Writing “Plant”: the Carrier of National Criticism and Ideal Personality——an Analysis of the Plant Image of LI Peifu's Novels

  • 摘要: 大量植物意象的运用是李佩甫小说的一个较为明显的特征,透过这些植物意象,那些生活在同一块土地上的“平原人”形象跃然纸上。隐喻乡村女性的乡间最常见的“牛屎饼花”,折射出平原人“败中求生,小中求活”的生存本能的“小虫儿窝蛋”和“败节草”,还有充满神秘色彩的“汗血石榴”“人面橘”等,所有这些意象都无疑为我们洞悉作家是如何解读社会的提供了一个切入点,从而成为理解李佩甫小说的关键。

     

    Abstract: In LI Peifu's text, the application of a large number of plant images becomes a more obvious feature in his novels. Through these plant images, the images of the "plain man" who lived on the same land were on paper. With the most common "bull shit cake" metaphor in the country he depicted simple rural women, reflecting the survival instinct of the people in the plains——to survive in the failure, to live in the small, and mysterious "blood pomegranate", "face orange", etc. All these images can provide a new perspective to understand clearly the style the writer interprets the world, thus becomes the key to understanding LI Peifu's novels.
