Abstract: Memetics of language takes the culture as the basic unit and uses language as the carrier through imitation and transmission so as to enrich the human language. Translation, a transmission of cross-language meme, concerns the decoding of the source meme and the encoding target meme, which exists at lexical, syntactical and textual levels. The interreaction of memes promotes the transmission and development of translated memes. Based on memetics, this paper analyzes the translated memes and their ways of duplication and transmission at lexical and syntactical level so as to help translators grasp translated memes in English legal text, consequently, to improve the quality of legal English translation.
