Abstract: Fang was a state conferred by Emperor Yao upon his son Dan Zhu who was surnamed Qi.Dan Zhu’s son inherited the conferred state,so the state was called Fangzi(son of Fang).The state was completely destroyed by another state Chu in late Spring and Autumn Period.During the dynasties Han and Jin,the place where Fang had been located was called Wufang,and since Tang and Song it has been called Suiping.Around Fang,Cai was a larger state but others such as Dao,Bai,Shen,etc.were all small conferred stat...
