Abstract: This paper has classified the phonological ambiguities in Two and a Half Men,and analyzed its pragmatic effects in a specific situation by using Austin’s speech act theory.From the analysis,we can see phonological ambiguities have been caused by a variety of sound factors and the same as situational context.Speakers often use phonological ambiguity to achieve a goal or obtain certain effects.
