Abstract: Stereotypical relation refers to the inherent relation in itself and is also a cognitive tool used for people to be in charge of the world in a way of relation.The paper attempts to use the stereotypical relation theory and its model to analyze and understand the meanings of idioms in terms of the principles of proximity and similarity aiming at improving the efficiency of learning idioms and promoting the teaching of English idioms.
