Abstract: Xiang state stems from Huang Di Tribe of the Ji Family.Its remote ancestor,Boshu whose surname is Ji,is the descendant of Huang Di,living in the Liaoxi region in the earliest time and transferred to the north of Huanghe River.To Zhou time,a branch of Ji Family transferred to the north of Huaihe and established Xiang state which was wiped out by Lu in 643 BC.When the forces of Chu expanded toward the north,Xiang was occupied by Chu.The original capital of Xiang state lies in Huaidian Town,Shenqiu county,Henan province,which is the Xiang county in Jin time,the original capital of Xiang county in Sui,Tang and Song dynasty.
