Abstract: Architecture is a medium for cultural memory,which not only inherits the history but also constitutes the past in the society.Like the text,it can bridge the past and the present.The evolution of architectural style in Venice is a good example which can testify the point.Venice has affected by the Byzantine,Gothic,ancient Rome and Renaissance style,whose widely prevalence in a certain period was accordance with the specific political demands.
