Abstract: Xiao Hong's novel The Small City in March describes the young female in the city chasing material and vogue,marriage love conservation,reflects the city females roving around between the new and the old idea and shows Chinese city females in the twenties in the 20th century living appearance,spirit feature and the heart of the depression.The novel naturally combines the female and city,tactfully expresses the confliction between the city new breathing and tradition,which depicting the modern city and female,though under the beautiful cover of outside fashion and making open,still can't break away from inner tradition and circumstances of conservation.
