Abstract: The Diary of the Madman by Luxun is a myth in the modern literature.The image of the madman in the novel is not a real person but a symbol with rich connotations and variable references.Meanwhile he is also a combination and a code of different types of people,various psychologies,multiple cultures and several trends.Thus Luxin's multiple understandings to the life,the culture and the world was made through the image of the madman.
