Abstract: The paper makes an investigation of the orientation of the successive attributive adjectives and draws the following conclusions: First,there are seven types of orientation of the successive attributive adjectives;Second,the ambiguity caused by the different orientation of the successive attributive adjectives can be classified into two subcategories by the overt one and the covert one.The overt ambiguity can be resolved by determining the target of the successive attributive adjectives,while the covert ambiguity can be resolved by changing its form or by adding number classifier phrase attributive.
