Abstract: Empirical philosophy holds that human mind derives from embodied experience.Based on such idea,the motivations for different types of sentences such as active sentence,passive sentence and ergative sentence can be the result of different cognitive perspectives,thus the working mechanism of foregrounding is the effective way to explain the choice of subjects in different forms of sentences.
