Abstract: This paper attempts to deal with poetry coherence from the perspective of schema theory.Following a brief introduction of Schema theory,poetry coherence is interpreted in terms of Situation Schema and cultural schema.From the cognitive perspective,this paper shows how to activate events schema,scene schema and role schema for coherenc,and discusses different poetic texts in different cases including similarity of cultural schema,dissimilarity of cultural schema and defaults of cultural schema.The author hol...
