Abstract: The paper focuses on news text appeared in the form of information in China s contemporary print media.It provides a 700-million-character mandarin Chinese News Text(XWYP) Corpus,including 1080 news article.Corpus statistics indicates that the structural elements of new text are a meaningful unit.We summarize starting from the significance of the primary structure elements: news,background information and news analysis and divided into both secondary element and third element.
