Abstract: "Poetry expressing ambition" was not only taught in class but also performed in the ceremony of the Adult Rite.This activity can be traced back to the Adult Rite in the period of Yao and Shun which influenced the literary activity of expressing ambition in the Capping Ceremony after the dynasty of Xizhou.To recount the virtues of the Chinese ancestor and to celebrate the birthday formed the important part of the Adult Rite.
