Abstract: HAN Yu's view of "making fun by means of poem" includes two forms,one is "competition by composing poem" and the other is "playing tricks on the others by composing poem".According to this view,the purpose of writing poem is mainly to obtain fun and thus,it is quite different from the traditional purpose of "expressing one's ambition by writing poem".Moreover,the means of writing poem is also quite different,and this is one of the reasons why HAN Yu formed the style of his own in writing poem.
