Power in Narration——an Analysis of Male Chauvinism in the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

  • 摘要: 《富兰克林自传》既是一部世人所赞颂的经典自传,也是一本包含了诸种善与美的道德律令手册。但是,在《自传》中,富兰克林表现出了明显的男权意识及歧视妇女的倾向,其叙述也体现了作者的男权政治话语。

     

    Abstract: The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is not only a classic masterpiece in American literature,but also a book about morality that elaborates on beauty and benevolence.However,from the narratological point of view,his autobiography subtly betrays his male chauvinism and discrimination against women.His narration clearly shows a male political discourse.
