Abstract: This essay makes a random sample survey about the compounding nouns in Words and Expressions of Jinpingmei,and summarizes their six structural patterns: combined pattern,modificatory pattern,subject plus predicate pattern,verb plus object pattern,integrated pattern and others.Among the above patterns,combined and modificatory ones are the mainstream,but the combined one is the most productive.In addition,according to the part of speech,the compounding nouns can be composed of nouns,verbs,adjectives,numerals...
