Abstract: The production of YAN Yuan's pragmatic education ideology is not only the requirement of social development, but also relates to the characteristics of the academic ideology development. Another reason why this ideology which advocates governing the country and pragmatism came into being between Ming and Qing Dynasty was the result of the influence of western culture invasion. In addition, the convert of YAN Yuan himself also advanced the ideology to appear.
