Abstract: LI Shang-yin was a unique existence in the literary history of China. LI Shang-yin and the studies on his poems and essays were awfully ignored and dispersed in the three dynasties of Song, Yuan and Ming, ranging over 800 years; nevertheless, a 200-year climax of LI Shang-yin studies emerged in the Qing Dynasty, with a great number of researchers as well as academic works and findings, so that the value of LI Shang-yin and his works were come to be extensively acknowledged.
