Abstract: The explanatory way of quotation is used for the first time in the large-scale annotative collection of literary works, Wenxuan, which provide a reference model for literary works' annotation in later ages. The paper is about the academic standing of Lishan's annotation way, the source of the quotations, the way of quotation and the reason why LI Shan employs the way of quotation.
