Abstract: ZHANG Zi-ping's love novels were influenced by Japanese naturalistic literature. He not only accepted literary concepts of Japanese Naturalism but also directly imitated literary texts of its representatives. As a result, his composition gradually became mature and his status on the literary world was established. However, this influence also made his novels appear too fleshly and draw criticism from the audience.
