Abstract: LI Pei-fu's childhood had a profound effect on his literary creation, which found expressions in his works, for his works keep watch for and praise the rural life and figures, or reject and criticize the urban life and figures. However, in his deep mind, he is aware that urban civilization is superior to rural civilization. He is gradually trapped into the dilemma of contradiction and pain. As a result, this phenomenon reflects his anxiety and consideration for the present age.
