Abstract: One of the main purpose of foreign language teaching is to improve students cross-cultural communicative competence. According to traditional approach , we can only improve the students communicative competence by means of audio-lingual approach ? direct approach and cognitive approach , neglecting that grammatical competence is the basis of communicative competence Therefore , combining grammar teaching with communicative activities is one of the major tendency of foreign language teaching.
