Abstract: In the past, people had six views on TAO Yuan-Ming's life-span:①sixty-three;②seventy-three;③fifty-six;④fifty-one;⑤fifty-two;⑥fifty-nine. Of the six views the first is the most authentic, because: (a) it was ever recorded clearly in history; (b) it is the oldest saying; (c) it has the least conflicts with TAO Yuan-Ming's poems and essays.
