Abstract: This essay will summarize the researches on this problem in recent years from three aspects: studies of the braindamaged, studies through technology of brain imaging and eventrelated potentials, studies on the level of neurons. These indicate that superiore temporal sulcus ,inferotemporal cortex ,fusiform gyrus can only be activated by face stimulus specially. So the brain mechanisms between face recognition and object recognition are different.
