Abstract: This paper holds that listening comprehension is a process consisting of vocal signs identification, vocal signs memorizing, written forms matching and semantic interpretation, in which listeners are actively involved, rather than that of passive acceptance. So the related phonetic, syntactic and psycholinguistic theories are needed so as to provide listeners with effective instructions.
