Abstract: Marked progression and unmarked progression are distinguished in this thesis which illustrates that both inter-sentence and inside-sentence progression are included in unmarked progression. We drew a conclusion of six unmarked progressive grammatical connective methods which are word order, parallel composition, omission, correlation, replacement and repetition.
