Abstract: It is the main purpose of foreign language teaching to cultivate students' communicative competence. Communicative Approach (CA) opens up a wider perspective on foreign language teaching. CA aims at developing students' communicative competence by their active participation in various communicative activities. The application of CA in Intensive Reading Class for English Majors helps to enhance students' communicative competence.
