Abstract: Proceeding from the reflection of existing product approach, this paper first analyzes the new development and defects of process approach. Then it states a tentative view about how to shift the focus of college English writing teaching. Finally it summarizes several advantages brought by the shift of the focus of college English writing teaching and the incorporation of advantages and strong points of all kinds of writing teaching methods.
