Abstract: Authenticity is the base of Hemingway's literary idea. Lying in the interactions of the Wesetrn and the Eastern cultures,Hemingway's view of authenticity combines the uncertainty of the reality in the Westrn tradition and the voidness of the soul in the Eastern tradition. The duality of Hemingway's anthenticity mainly shows the cognition and definition to “experience”,which represents both the characteristics of his authenticity and transition of the Western literary trends.
