Abstract: Re-titled ZHENG's East Pavilion is one of DU Fu's early works. There are two main opinions about the time when the poem was created： the third year in Tianbao period and the second year in Qianyuan period. These two versions of the year are biased. By analyzing DU Fu's communication with the ZHENG's family in Xingyang in his early years， it can be roughly determined that this poem was written in Xin'an County near Luoyang during the years from the end of Kaiyuan period to the fifth year in Tianbao period， and the characters involved in the poem should be ZHENG Hongzhi or ZHENG Qianyao.
