Research on the Impact of New Quality Productivity on Carbon Emissions

  • 摘要: 新质生产力作为一种先进的生产力,能够为实现碳达峰和碳中和目标赋能。本研究以我国2012—2022年省级面板数据为研究样本,探讨了新质生产力对碳排放的影响及其内在机制。结果表明:新质生产力能够有效减少碳排放;机制检验显示,新质生产力能够通过提升科技创新水平和推动产业结构升级间接实现碳减排;进一步分析发现,新质生产力对碳排放的抑制效应在西部地区最为显著,中部地区次之。

     

    Abstract: As an advanced productive force, new quality productivity can empower the realization of carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. Based on the provincial panel data from 2012-2022, this paper explores the impact of new quality productivity on carbon emissions and its internal mechanism. The results show that the new quality productivity can effectively reduce carbon emissions, and the mechanism test shows that the new quality productivity can indirectly achieve carbon emission reduction by improving the level of scientific and technological innovation and promoting the upgrading of industrial structure. Further analysis shows that the impact of new quality productivity on carbon emissions is most significant in the western region, followed by the central region. Accordingly, this study provides a useful reference for the development of new quality productivity and the formulation of carbon emission reduction development strategies.
