Abstract:
Folk story is an important narrative genre of Kaizhang Shengwang, which is widely spread in Minnan generation and is the narrative with the most historical sense and local culture among Minnan people. The history in the story is often a poetic narrative, which provides the audience with a kind of value beyond many historical facts such as wisdom, knowledge and ethnic memory, and then condenses into a set of value system, symbols and emotional ties that conform to the development of ethnic groups. A series of “Kaizhang” public narratives centered on Chen Yuanguang, the holy king of Kaizhang, became an important part of “Minnan”. The derivation and development of these public narratives have expanded the cultural resources of Kaizhang Shengwang and gradually developed into a cultural industry. Therefore, narrative, as a cognitive construction, plays an important role in the inheritance of Kaizhang Shengwang culture. From this perspective, discussing the inheritance of Kaizhang Shengwang culture is helpful to identify its endogenous motivation in historical development, link the people's belief complex on both sides of the strait, help build a narrative community on both sides of the strait, and promote the local social development in Fujian and Taiwan.
