Abstract:
The Tea Ceremony,a novel by journalist He Zhengquan, takes the Xinyang as a narrative clue. The novel adopts the dual narrative perspective of ‘I', a cultural restoration expert, and Hui Ming, a female teacher of Xianshan Academy. It describes the black scenes that have occurred in Xinyang's business, political, educational, cultural relics, and celebrity circles since modern times. The tea culture and the image of ‘Yuguanyin' run through the novel, which is full of rational reflection on human nature, desire and history. The novel implies the fatalistic view of causal good and evil, and conveys the beautiful vision of life in the dialectical relationship between gain and loss.
