Abstract:
Since directing the film The Snow Child in 1995, French director Nicolas Vanier has focused his filmon nature, on the harmonious coexistence between human and nature, the ecological balance of the earth home and other issues.Through the warm and realistic interpretation of the theme, the natural and plain narrative, and realistic creative techniques, he explores the relationship between human and nature, human and animal. In his films, a sense of consistency and integrity in creation can always be maintained.Theauthor analyzes the co-construction and translation of human and non-human elements in Vanier's films from the perspective of "Actor Network Theory". At the same time, based on the animal ethics of "neither using nets to catch fish, nor shooting birds already back to the nest", and the life philosophy in traditional Chinese Confucianism"when harmony is achieved, all things can grow and develop. If they are exactly the same, they cannot develop and continue", we can understand the spiritual characteristics and value orientation of respecting life in Vanier's films, and think about the humanistic spirit and ecological ideology of his films.
