Abstract:
Fathers, mothers and teachers from 24 classes in 6 kindergartens in Henan Province were selected as the research sample. The questionnaire method was conducted to explore the influence of parental burnout on children's problem behaviors, and the mediating role of self-control between two variables. The results show that:(1) Fathers' and mothers' parental burnout both can significantly predict children's problem behaviors (
β=0.06,
β=0.07,
P < 0.01); (2) Children's self-control plays a full mediating role in the impact of fathers' parental burnout on children's problem behaviors (Effect size=0.046, CI=0.021, 0.092); (3) Children's self-control plays a partial mediating role in the impact of mothers' parental burnout on children's problem behaviors (Effect size=0.042, CI=0.017, 0.088). According to the findings, parents should enrich their own parental resources, make good use of positive parenting style, and reduce levels of parental burnout, which aiming to build a good family environment for the development of children's physical and mental.
