Abstract:
In the early period of the Republic of China, the pedagogy for higher education developed rapidly. However, as a new discipline introduced from the west, pedagogy is faced with the problem of localization, especially the university pedagogy textbooks, which gradually move from translation to compilation. Although domestic scholars began to compile textbooks by themselves during 1912-1931, the effect was not obvious due to the lack of effective organization and examination. From 1932 to 1945, private publishing houses such as the Commercial Press, Zhonghua Book Publishing House and World Book Publishing House led the compilation and publication of a number of pedagogy textbooks, which were popularized in colleges and universities. These textbooks not only promoted the continuous development of pedagogy in China and changed the use structure of college pedagogy textbooks, but also their "sinicization" concept of compilation is of reference value to the editing of contemporary pedagogy textbooks.
