Abstract:
in Alice Munro's stories, she used the cognitive attitude of individual's "name" symbol as the starting point of self-identity. In some stories, she designed and repeated the characters of the "name" symbol, and pointed out that the characters "name" under the guise of a variety of ways and different motives. The author believed that the characters are renamed to want to cover themselves from a certain experience of past identity, but fundamentally unable to change the course of her real life. It is only a self-deceiving temporary behavior, enriching a variety of possible meanings of the self "name" symbolic references.
