On the Values of Red Culture in the New Media Era

  • Red culture, a significant culture type with strong ideological characteristics, is the product of Chinese revolution and construction under the specific historical conditions, and an indispensable aspect of China's cultural construction as well. Red culture also presents a series of new trends in the new media era:(1)A new type of red discourse paradigm is shifting-from mighty to covert discourse paradigm; the online discourse platform is highlighted; the government discourse is dismantled and reconstructed, etc.(2)The contemporary value of red culture is reflected in modern and contemporary sense which are equally important.(3)Cultural values are reflected in the recombination of these fragmentary red memories.(4)The red culture is also an important part of the cultural construction in colleges and universities, and has carried out the malleable excavation of the college educational function in the new media era.
