Party Consultation in China: Practice, Challenge and Prospect

Party consultation is one of the important forms of deliberative democracy in China. It is the political form of direct consultation between the CPC and the democratic parties. Party consultation has always adhered to the basic principles of politics, system and value, and obtained remarkable achievements in system construction, practical exploration, programming and conceptual culture. However, party consultation still faces a series of challenges when realizing the modernization of national governance and deepening the socialist democratic political construction. On the way of democracy and legal institution, the basic path to promote the party consultation lies in the emphasis on the exploration of the existing resources and the innovation of the institutional mechanism.
