Abstract
With the deepening of Yanhuang cultural research, the primary challenge in establishing a scientific curriculum system for Yanhuang culture lies in conducting necessary theoretical examinations of establishing a scientific curriculum system, ensuring its foundation on solid theoretical grounds. Since 2007, and particularly since 2017, the academic community has reached a consensus to elevate Yanhuang cultural research to the discipline of “Yanhuang Studies (Yhxdology)”. Scholars have not only engaged in beneficial discussions regarding the disciplinary connotation of “YanHuang Studies”, but also progressively developed more comprehensive, indepth and scientific understanding of its connotations. These efforts have laid a crucial foundation for constructing the YanHuang culture curriculum system. However, significant divergences persist in academic interpretations of Yanhuang Studies’ disciplinary boundaries. Through critical review, this study proposes that “Yanhuang Studies” constitutes a comprehensive and interdisciplinary yet relatively independent body of knowledge. It systematically investigates Emperor Yan (Yandi) and Emperor Huang (Huangdi) using theoretical frameworks and methodologies, while examining their cultural influences and historical values in shaping Chinese civilization. This reflection aims to provide theoretical references for the current development of Yanhuang culture curriculum systems.
