“Building a Powerful Nation through Education”: Historical Choice, Responsibility in the Times and Future Mission of Educators

Educators, as leaders, have influenced the country through education in different historical periods. From the idea of “saving the nation through education” in modern times to “revitalizing the country through education” after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and then to “building a powerful nation through education” in the new era, educators have always taken education as the primary force, shouldered the mission of the times and promoted the construction and progress of the country. In the context of the new era, educators need to undertake important responsibilities such as deepening educational reforms, promoting educational equity and improving educational quality, and leading the process of internationalizing education. They should also build an independent knowledge system of pedagogy with Chinese characteristics and contribute to the realization of the vision of building a powerful nation in education.
