Border Town Translated by YANG Xianyi and Gladys Yang

Border Town is the representative work of the famous Chinese writer SHEN Congwen. This work is favored by many translators. The English version shows unique artistic charm and vitality. This paper analyzes the different translation techniques about the translation of subject applied in the English version translated by YANG Xianyi and Gladys Yang. We can find that the YANGs used equivalence, shift and supplement to improve the quality of sentence translation.
