Plant Writing and Metaphorical Ways of Central Plains Culture——The Review of LI Peifu's “Plain Series” Novels

  • LI Peifu is one of the representative figures in the contemporary Henan writers. Plant writing is in vivid presentation in Sheep's Door, City Lights, Life Volume, The Book of the Plain Guest and many other works, which is the important point that LI Peifu thinks about the cultural implication of central plains. In the social context of the binary opposition between urban and rural areas, a few people fled the country as they wish, but ended up as a direct slave to the urban survival rule. "Plain narration" constitutes the main narrative mode of LI Peifu's novels. The folk culture form of the plain country not only has the freedom, but also has the obvious characteristics of the filth, which together constitute the contradictory opposite relation of the central plains cultural tradition.
