Always Trying to Return to the Heart of the Individual——An Interview about the Writing and Revision of LIANG Hong's First Novel

  • Beginning with her non-fictional literary works China in Liang Zhuang and Leaving Liang Zhuang, the focus of LIANG Hong's work gradually has shifted to literary creation. She was first known as a young literary critic, and received widespread acclaim. For a time, she became the most representative writer of non-fiction literature in China. Because of the interest, temperament, and writing preferences, by the creation of the short story collection The Holy Family, the genre of LIANG Hong's creation gradually shifted from non-fiction to novel, and in 2017 she published her first novel LIANG Guangzheng's Glorious Dream. In a very short time, this novel was modified on a large scale and renamed LIANG Guangzheng's Light. After being published by the People's Literature Publishing House, it produced a great response. From the creation of LIANG Guangzheng's Glorious Dream to the modification of LIANG Guangzheng's Light, this process can be regarded as a complete text. By the text, we can see a complete process from the creation to the revision of a writer, from the writing to the publication of the work. To understand a writer and her work, this overall perspective is more comprehensive and more three-dimensional.
