The Model of China's Participation in the Asia-Pacific Value Chain Cooperation
-
Abstract
Based on the basic data provided by WTO/OECD-TIVA database, this paper constructs and evaluates the index system of Asia-Pacific value chain cooperation model from the three dimensions of overall, value chain cooperation and value chain cooperation depth respectively. The study founds that the overall value chain cooperation between China and Asia-Pacific economies is generally high and has shown a "direct and shallow value chain cooperation oriented, indirect and deep value chain cooperation as a supplement". In addition, both in terms of overall and value chain cooperation, the value chain cooperation between China and Asia-Pacific developing economies is significantly higher than that of the developed economies in the Asia-Pacific region. It is important to note that the above conclusions have significant heterogeneity in industries and economies.
