A Literary Modeling of Self-Image——An Interpretation of Bai Hua's Poems in the 1980s

In the 1980s, Bai Hua hoped to get out of the shadow of psychological trauma of the real life, but in his literary creation, he never forgot it and chewed on it repeatedly. Trauma and the contradictory attitude towards trauma have become the most fundamental driving factors for all the literary creation of Bai Hua in his later years. Trauma has brought unprecedented loneliness to Bai Hua. This kind of loneliness is not only the alienation and isolation between people, but also the separation of ideas and ideals. On the one hand, Bai Hua chose to accept it, hoping to move from loneliness to resonance; on the other hand, he longed for understanding, and his desire for communication almost reached the point of begging. In the face of great trauma and unprecedented loneliness, Bai Hua chose to believe in the future and rebuild the image of him. Thus, a tragic hero image emerges in his works, who has strong beliefs and expectations for the future despite all the ups and downs. From the perspective of narrative psychology, Bai Hua's poetry creation in the 1980s can be regarded as an unconscious process of psychological healing.
