Abstract: Since its birth, science fiction movies have created new film spaces with novel and bold creativity, brilliant visual effects, and human diligent exploration of the future or the unknown, leaving the audience with endless thinking. The Wandering Earth of Chinese science fiction films and 2001:A Space Odyssey of American science fiction films are two special science fiction works. By comparing the two representative science fiction films, we can find that Chinese science fiction film and American science fiction films are in some similarities and differences in concept and value orientation. Thinking deeply about the internal connection and difference between the two, on the one hand, we can understand the realistic basis and creative characteristics of the development of Chinese science fiction films, at the same time, we can find the future development space of Chinese science fiction films.
