“身”“体”语义特征考辨

An Analysis of the Characteristics of the Chinese Words shen and ti

  • 摘要: “身”和“体”是指称性相似、构词作用相近的名词性语素,但在使用中存在着语义与搭配上的差异。通过字形分析和义项梳理可知,“身”强调的是人或物体的“主体性”,而“体”则重在凸显事物的“外部特征”或“内部架构”,二者语义特征差异显著。

Abstract: The Chinese characters shen and ti are both noun morphemes. They have the same referentiality and word formation. However there are some differences in semantics and collocation in practice. By analyzing the glyphs and meaning entries of shen and ti, we can see that shen emphasizes the subjectivity of people or objects, while ti highlights the external characteristics or internal structure of things. The differences in semantic features lead to different semantic development paths of the two morphemes.
